Bearing in mind that most attendees want education over and above just obtaining CPD points, we have assembled a formidable team for this first Category 1 activity for 2006. Dr Pandey’s unique teaching techniques is well known to those graduates from UNSW. Her session is interactive, and demonstration will be done on a live model. Dr Bronwyn Jenkins is Stroke Fellow and will be speaking on the Pathophysiology of Stroke. Dr Kit Lau does not need any introduction; he is the doyen of TCM in AMAC-NSW. Category 1 participants will receive a predisposing activity, plus a link to reading materials on safety in acupuncture. ACUPUNCTURE TRAINING CLINICS Ryde Acupuncture Training Clinic — located in the grounds of Ryde Hospital. Clinic day: Wednesday afternoons 2.00–4.00pm. Clinic generally runs from beginning February to beginning December. Ph: 9858 7776 for bookings. Balmain Acupuncture Training Clinic — located at Balmain Hospital. Clinic days Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Start date anticipated to be June 2006. Both clinics serve as training ground for new medical acupuncturists, with experienced members of AMAC acting as mentors. Patients are bulk-billed. Currency of AMAC membership Some members, Fellows included, have not updated their membership to date. Please attend to this urgently, as you are overdue with your subscription. The current climate is for TCM registration that is sweeping through the state governments, one at a time. Take Victoria — if AMAC had not acted, doctors practicing acupuncture would have been under the umbrella of the lay TCM board, instead of just the state medical board. You get updated information of CPD activities that are being run in the state. How else are you going to find out what is out there? If you let your membership lapse, you will be dropped from the post out list. For CPD activities, members attending are subsidized, a substantial savings. Non-members and those whose membership of AMAC has lapsed will have to pay the full fees.
